The L’Etoile Sport Guide to the Hamptons

There’s nothing quite like summer in the Hamptons. Whether you’re staying for the season or planning a quick weekend getaway, our favorite beach destination is one of the best places to celebrate the summer with friends and family. From Southampton to Montauk, there’s so much happening in the Hamptons — so our founder, Yesim Phillp, put together a guide of some of the best spots to eat, drink, stay, shop and play.

Where to Eat in the Hamptons
  1. Tutto il Giorno Sag: For the best Italian cuisine on the east end, look no further than Tutto i Giorno. The menu features incredible pasta creations, ranging from simple penne with mozzarella, tomato, and eggplant to a risotto of the day that never disappoints. The Sag Harbor location is nestled within the Urban Zen retail store, so you can feast on antipasti, followed by a little shopping.
  2. Tutto il Giorno Southampton: The best Italian meal can also be found at Tutto il Giorno’s Southampton location. We love the authentic pasta dishes, delicious local fish and the most decadent Italian desserts served in a beautiful modern interior and quaint garden area.
  3. Sen: If you’re craving sushi this summer, Southampton’s Sen is a must-try. The restaurant features a robust sake menu, alongside incredible cocktails such as a Yuzu Lemonade made from Yuzu Omois Sake and the Lychee Martini, which is made with lychee puree and Pau Vodka. As for the menu, in addition to sushi, it includes a variety of dumplings — including divine chicken lemongrass versions, steamed buns, and specialty rolls.
Where to Enjoy a Cocktail in the Hamptons
  1. Sunset Beach Hotel: André Balazs Sunset Beach Hotel is a cute place to stay, but it is also home to one of my favorite places to grab a festive summer cocktail and feel like you have been transported to the South of France or Coastal Italy. The unfussy interior, outdoor seating with sand at your feet and some of the areas best DJs guarantee a good time. The cocktail menu features fantastic concoctions, including an “Endless Sunset,” made from a blend of Bulleit rye whiskey, cyan, lemon, cardamon, IPA, and bitters. I also love the “Beach Melons,” which is like a summer mule and made with watermelon juice, lime juice, ginger beer, and vodka. And of course, true to its name, the perfect sunset view does not disappoint.

  2. Duryea’s Orient Point: If you’re in the mood for incredible appetizers and drinks with a gorgeous waterfront backdrop, Duryea’s Orient Point is our top pick. The beach club and restaurant serves delicious food, great drinks, and an oyster bar. Not to mention: It overlooks one of the most stunning strips of beach and ocean.

  3. Topping Rose House: The lounge at Topping Rose House is fully stocked with top-shelf bottles that mixologists transform into delicious cocktails. We love stopping by during their Friday afternoon happy hour for a glass of Topping Rose House’s private label rosé, complimentary oysters, and live music.

Where to Stay in the Hamptons
  1. Topping Rose House:: A stay at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton is unlike any other. Choose between staying in the house itself — which includes guest rooms and one-bedroom suites — or a cottage for a truly unique experience. Perfect for anyone who appreciates historic architecture and design, Topping Rose House feels like you’re staying at a stunning estate home, surrounded by beautiful greens. Plus, it is easy to walk into town for dinner or shopping if you decide to Jitney here and skip the car.

  2. Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa: Looking to get away to Montauk? Gurney’s is one of our favorite places to visit. The luxury hotel is located right on a private beach with rooms,  suites or beachfront cottage with incredible views. You can also just visit the spa or beach club, where the amenities truly stand out.

  3. The Quogue Club at Hallack House: Tucked away in the quaint town of Quogue, this luxe boutique hotel with 10 rooms and two cottages was designed by Alexa Hampton and features all the amenities. Bike to the beach (bikes provided free of charge), eat in the wonderful restaurant or read and play backgammon in one of the lovely common spaces.

Where to Shop in the Hamptons
  1. Kirna Zabête: This East Hampton Village shop carries dozens of amazing designers, from big house names like GUCCI and Celine to brands like SLVRLAKE and Khaite. It always has great designers and curated collections, and is the perfect place to shop for summer soirees, beach club parties, and more.

  2. Veronica Beard: I love Veronica Beard’s designs, which are that ideal combination of city and coastal. The store in Southampton has everything from summer party dresses to lounge-worthy denim, making it the ideal Hamptons shop. Of course, they feature the pieces from our L’Etoile Sport X VB collaboration

  3. Poupette St Barth: I love the way that Poupette St Barth’s brings St Barth’s style to the Hamptons at their stores in Southampton and East Hampton. The designer boutique carries tons of beach-worthy ensembles, including smocked dresses, flowing jumpsuits, and frilly frocks in vibrant hues and floral prints.

What to Do in the Hamptons
  1. Play Tennis: From gorgeous backyard courts to luxe private clubs, spending time on Long Island is the perfect excuse to work on your serve — and a great way to get your sweat on too (wearing your L’Etoile Sport, of course!).

  2. Walk on the Beach: Going to the beach is my favorite way to wind down and relax during the summer. And, as the ultimate summer getaway, the Hamptons has some of the most beautiful beaches to stroll. Whether it’s Main Beach in East Hampton, Coopers Beach in Southampton, or Ditch Plain’s Beach in Montauk, you’ll feel relaxed, restored, and rejuvenated after a long beach walk.

  3. Cook a Great Meal: Cooking for friends and family in the Hamptons is one of the things I like to do most. In the summertime, there are so many incredible farmer’s markets to shop at — all of which are stocked with the most gorgeous seasonal fruits and veggies. Round Swamp Farms has incredible produce and prepared foods too, and Green Thumb Farmers Market in Watermill is another favorite.
