If you are planning to escape to the captivating city of London, where history and modernity seamlessly blend together, Spring might be the perfect time. I recently visited London on Presidents’ Day weekend with my family. Although our trip was only two nights, we packed so much into the weekend. One of my kids brought a friend who has never been to London, so our children began their journey by taking their friend to explore the historic heart of the city where you can witness the grandeur of Buckingham Palace and the Changing of the Guard. They followed their visit to the Palace with a stroll along the picturesque River Thames to take in the breathtaking views of Tower Bridge and the majestic Tower of London, which holds centuries of fascinating history within its walls.
My husband and I indulged in a shopping spree at world-renowned department stores like Harrods and Selfridges. These stores are just a stone's throw away from the charming streets of Covent Garden and Notting Hill, where you'll discover unique boutiques and bustling markets.
Next, we visited the Victoria and Albert Museum to see the fascinating Gabriella Chanel Exhibit. This was the first UK exhibition dedicated to the works of Gabriella ‘Coco’ Chanel, charting the establishment of the House of Chanel and evolution of her iconic design style which continues to influence the way women dress today. Although the show is sold out, you can become a member of the V&A museum for 50 pounds and see all the exhibitions free throughout the year!
Of course we had to enjoy some amazing food while on our trip, some old favorites and some new!
Sexy Fish: Seafood and sushi, always busy, always great food.
Coya: In Mayfair… Delicious Peruvian food, cocktails and desserts.
New discovery Eva Mario from Big Mama Group which was discovered by my 16 year old daughter: Buzzy decor and great Italian food.
Whether you're a history buff, a shopaholic, or a food lover, London offers something for everyone. So pack your bags and get ready to embark on a journey filled with unforgettable moments and endless discoveries. London awaits you with open arms.
