1. FASHION WEEK RECAP - THE SHOWS

WHAT  WE LOVED FROM EACH OF THE MAJOR SS15 WEEKS

NEW YORK - LAYERS OF LACE

    ml

Monique Lhuillier during the Mercedes-Benz Spring Fashion Week in New York on Sept. 5, 2014. New York Fashion week started with a blast of  eye-catching laces and whimsical silhouettes, patterns and cinched-waist dresses took center stage. We loved the use of lace and layering prevalent in many of the shows including another favorite Marchesa. Marchesa took our love for lace to the next level by adding fringe on patterned lace.

    LONDON - RETRO YOUTH

    topshop

Topshop Unique Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – London Fashion Week Wearable faded glamour seems to be the inspiration behind the collection presented at London Fashion Week. Its retro-meets-comfort and the motto behind Emma Farrow and Kate Phelan's design is simply living for the weekend. We love the overlayed fabrics and metallic designs that kept the line fun and youthful.

    MILAN - BOLD CULTURAL INSPIRATION

    dgmilan

Dolce & Gabbana Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2015 Womenswear Dolce & Gabbana brilliantly closed out their show with a stampede of models evervecent of a stampede of bulls. The collection, inspired by Spain's influence on Sicily, featured heavy embroidery and crisp white shirts. We love the simplistic hair and the dark lips.

PARIS - LUSH COLORS AND POWERFUL FABRICS

    dvn

Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2015 Collection - Paris Fashion Week Colors, textures, layers. Dries Van Noten used lush royal colors in bold ways to capture wearable chic style. Layering - again prevalent. What we loved was his use of sating in bot skirts and pants. The shine played of the eccentric fabric designs to give a boho whimsical vibe. Van Noten's overall show was really pulled together with his eclectic grass inspired runway carpet and lighting option.

  2. US OPEN - WOMEN WE ARE WATCHING

    uo

We are so excited that the US Open starts today (August 25th) in our home, New York City. With so many exciting players and match ups to be watched, we wanted to share our top female pics!

SERENA WILLIAMS - No. 1 seed

    sw

Top ranked tennis star Serena Williams, predominately brings the heat to all tournaments she enters. While she has not won a major this year, she does have 17 Slam titles under her belt.  Coming up short until now in this season, could just be the push this mega athlete needs to bring it home.

    AGNES RADWANKA - No.4 seed

    ag

While 25 year old Agnieszka Radwanska has never been past the fourth round in eight previous U.S. Opens, she is a 2012 Wimbledon finalist. Radwanska is off to a promising start on day 1 of the US Open as she defeated her first opponent in 46 minutes. Her best result in this year’s Slams was at the Australian Open were she lost in the semifinal.

MARIA SHARAPOVA - No. 5 seed

    ms

The Russian born beauty Maria Sharapova (27) is sure to bring intensity to her matches with sheer effort. While she is matched up in the most difficult quarter of the draw, you never know what will happen if she brings her A game! Win or lose, we are excited to watch her pour her heart onto the court!

VICTORIA AZARENKA - No. 16 seed

    Victoria Azarenka

This Belarus native is a two time Australian Open champion and two time U.S. Open runner-up to Serena Williams. What makes Azarenka exciting to watch is her ability to match up to Serena Williams. Azarenka also holds the underdog card for us as she has battled both foot and knee injuries this year that has foxed her ranking to drop 2nd to 17th.

EUGINIE BOUCHARD - No. 7 seed

    EB

Canadian born Eugenie Bouchard is a true wild card. Her confidence and determination allow her to continually overcome early on complications in tournaments. While she regularly loses early on in tournaments, she remains the only player, man or woman, to advance at least to the semifinals of all three Slams. Bouchard in these semi finals was defeated each time by the eventual winner (Na, Sharapova, and Kvitova). It's great to watch her play and continue to grow as an athlete!
